Sarracenia ‘Velvet’ – Soft-Toned Pitcher Plant with Deep Coloration
Sarracenia ‘Velvet’ is a striking cultivar with elegantly shaped, upright pitchers that develop rich maroon to purple tones, often with a velvety matte finish—especially when grown in full sun. Mature pitchers typically reach 12 to 20 inches tall, forming a graceful clump over time. Its refined coloring and smooth texture give this plant a unique, luxurious appearance that stands out in any carnivorous plant collection or bog garden.
Like other hardy Sarracenia, ‘Velvet’ thrives in full sun, moist soil, and nutrient-poor conditions. It undergoes a natural dormancy during the colder months and returns with vigorous new growth in spring.
