Louisiana Iris Pastel Pixie

Louisiana Iris ‘Pastel Pixie’ brings an airy, delicate look to the garden with softly colored blooms in white and lavender. Crisp white standards rise above white falls lightly washed in lavender, deepening around the signals and along the dark lavender edges. Lavender-pink style arms, a yellow thumbprint marked with dark purple veining, and a green spear-shaped signal complete its intricate pastel coloring.

Registered by Brian Shamblin in 2026, ‘Pastel Pixie’ reaches approximately 30 inches tall and flowers during the middle of the Louisiana iris bloom season. Its compact stature and luminous flowers make it especially attractive near pond edges, in rain gardens, moist perennial borders, and containers where its detailed pattern can be enjoyed up close.

Louisiana irises grow best in fertile soil rich in organic matter. They are well suited to traditional garden beds, containers, rain gardens, bog gardens, and water-garden settings, but they should not be allowed to dry out after active growth begins.
