Louisiana Iris Extra Edgy

Louisiana Iris ‘Extra Edgy’ delivers bold color and intricate patterning with a different look from nearly every angle. Pale pink standards are irregularly washed and marbled in magenta, while creamy falls are heavily overlaid with magenta and finished with a delicately serrated cream edge. A yellow thumbprint, magenta veining, and green-yellow spear-shaped signal add even more depth to its richly detailed blooms.

Introduced by Brian Shamblin in 2026, ‘Extra Edgy’ grows approximately 34 inches tall and begins flowering in the early-middle portion of the Louisiana iris season. Its striking color combination makes it an excellent focal point for pond edges, rain gardens, moist borders, and other areas where its flowers can be appreciated up close.

Louisiana irises grow well in fertile garden beds, containers, rain gardens, and water-garden settings. They do not have to remain submerged, but should not be allowed to dry out once active growth begins.
